If you are a lover of candle lit dinners, dark velvet and romancing over a bottle of the finest red the house has to offer, we imagine this ring is for you, sweet siren.

Marcasite (or pyrite) was a favorite in the Georgian period for its warm yellow luster and its ability to reflect light when faceted. It's popularity continued into the Victorian period when Queen Victoria went into mourning after her sweetheart, Prince Albert died. The whole court followed suit and consequently donned only black jewelry accented with diamonds, onyx and quite frequently marcasite.

We promise you don't need an excuse to wear something this pretty though. You just go on ahead and rock this baby any time you feel like it.
